How to build a sales relationship with a client

(720) 370-7404

Is your client the type of person that you would be friends with? We can't like everybody, but it sure does feel good to work with people that you get along with. When you are attempting to build relationships with clients in the community, what are your steps? Do you have a routine for this, or do you just wing it?

These people can be VIPs, Centers of influence, clients, and all other contacts that help you operate a successful business.

1. Connect with people. Reach out and say hello. Don't be a stranger. Be social... even clicking "like" is ok.

2. First to contact, first to contract. Keep your clients informed of any new happenings in the area. Be the first one to keep your client on top of things.

3. We can all get a little bit better at what we do, or how we do it. ASK your clients how you can serve them better. Get feedback and make adjustments as needed.

4. Everyone is unique, just like you. Don't lump them into a crowd. Treat each person and their situation with the attention that they deserve.

5. Let your people KNOW that it is ok to call you anytime. Answer the phone, return calls, ensure open communication is the standard.
