...Not everyone makes it.

Starting out, I would not recommend going into it full-time. If you have a current job or career, take the test first and start gaining experience by shadowing a currently working real estate agent. There are many parts to the real estate industry, and it will take you a significant amount of time to learn each of them. If you invest time in learning your craft, you will increase your chances of success.

The real estate industry is not something you should start to "try out." There is a definite level of commitment that will be required for success. What are you willing to sacrifice to get what you want? Are you willing to work 2 to 3 years to build a book of business and a list of clients that can sustain your future career?

You need a mentor. There have been people doing this for much longer than you have, and they have learned the tricks of the trade. Shorten your learning curve by seeking knowledge; find a willing person to help you. Do whatever it takes to find the right mentor.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. What is your plan? How will you succeed? What are the steps you will do to ensure your success? What have other successful agents done in your area? Have you asked to take them to a coffee and pick there brain?

This is not the career field to get into if you get bored easily. If you do not have a good system of staying on track, it will be easy for you to get confused. How are your multitasking skills? Do you have the ability to stay motivated without a boss or person telling you what to do all the time? If not, reconsider a career in real estate. This career takes a complete attention to detail, focus, and a willingness to learn at all times.
